Officers from the Scarsdale Police Department received a report of an attempted burglary that took place shortly after 5 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17.
When investigators arrived at the Graham Road home following the complaint, they were met by a resident who stated that she reviewed her Ring doorbell before going to sleep that night. While checking the camera after returning home, she said that she spotted a man attempting to gain access to her home earlier that morning, without success.
According to police, at 5:10 a.m. that morning, a dark-skinned male wearing a black hoodie, black gloves, black sweatpants and black basketball sneakers covered his face and attempted to gain entry into the home without using force.
When he was rebuffed by the locked door, he then went to the backyard, out of the camera’s view. He was later seen leaving the backyard through the camera from the same direction he had entered.
The investigation determined that the suspect attempted to enter a back door and a window screen along the side of the house, without success. No items were reported missing, according to police. The incident remains under investigation.
